Who we are, what we offer

The Gallery Studio is a community orientated business, run by myself - Tammy, and fellow musician and tutor, Richard.

We offer a diverse music teaching service open to many different members of the community.

We believe music to be a perfect outlet for young people to express themselves and find happiness through.

The Gallery Studio provides the perfect location for any imaginable music project. We have the facilities and experience to give students a seamless professional, yet personal and caring service in a safe and secure environment.

We have experience working with youth centres, special needs schools, and young people with various behavioural issues including Autism, Aspergers Syndrome, and ADD.

We are keen to enrol pupils on music courses that will last anything from 4 weeks, to 12 weeks. Or, single pupils are welcome interested in one on one tutoring. (Anything from one hour lessons, to a days tutoring)

Previously, students from the Glasshouse College in Stourbridge enrolled on our 12 week course which were made up of four hour sessions taught, twice a week.

Because all the services we provide are catered for ‘in-house’ we are able to keep costs down, giving you excellent value for money. (For details of our rates, please use the contact details on the first page).

What do our music teaching workshops offer?

  • Lessons about how to perform various basic, to advanced tasks in a recording studio. From setting up mics around a drum kit, to using digital computer equipment to record and mix a full song played by a live band.

  • We offer one on one tuition on guitar, bass, drums, and vocal, as well as group workshops.

  • Music production and song writing tuition also.

The individuals feelings and own thoughts will be of paramount importance, and be discussed throughout all workshops.

What are the aims and objectives of the workshops?

  • Confidence and self-esteem building.

  • Increased social awareness and ability to interact harmoniously with other people.

  • Better understanding of the pupils self-image through class discussion and performance of musical tasks.

  • Escapism. Music is a means of escapism for many people- we want young people to feel they have a place to come where they can express themselves through either playing an instrument, helping others record their music, or simply to talk with people about music whilst they gain practical skills which they could use to gain employment in not just any recording studio, but any field of work.

  • We believe the relaxed and fun atmosphere we create when teaching young people various musical skills will help them to feel a sense of belonging and a sense of achievement from the new skills they will have acquired by the end of their course.

What are our experiences and qualifications?

  • Between us we have over 27 years experience in the music industry.

  • We have been teaching guitar, bass drums, and recording studio techniques for the past 4 years.

  • We have expertise and skills in all aspects of sound recording. We have both formal university qualifications, and practical life skills that allow us to operate a recording studio. (Previous major studios we have worked in include Olympic Studios- London, and Ocean way-L.A.)

  • Between us we play guitar, bass guitar, drums, and sing to a high standard.

  • We are songwriters. Ray is a BMG published writer, and has previously been signed to Geffen records in a band he sang, played bass, and wrote in.
